好萊塢著名的男明星約翰尼（斯蒂芬·多爾夫 Stephen Dorff 飾）是一個終日與酒色作伴的浪蕩子，他住在酒店裡過著花天酒地的生活。突然有一天，素未謀面的女兒克里奧（艾麗·範寧 Elle Fanning 飾）闖入了他的生活，由於克里奧的媽媽將外出辦事，約翰尼不得不暫時扮演回父親的角色，甚至要帶著女兒去參加義大利電影節。在與女兒的短暫相處中他們漸漸建立起了感情，一切都在微妙的變化中，在女兒回家後，約翰尼開始重新審視起自己的生活。 本片獲得第67屆威尼斯電影節金獅獎。
