嘴上說不要身體卻很誠實的《朵拉或我們父母的性神經官能症》極為簡練地反映了人的獨立意識與家庭的監護責任之間的衝突。更為難得的是，這部來自德國的女性主義作品成功地將女性自我意識的覺醒與女性的道德困境建立起了連接。父母半遮半露的性教育與女兒自然而然的性探索形成鮮明的對比，影片運用大量虛焦的特寫鏡頭來襯托前者道德感的曖昧不清以及後者對於身體和外界的認知障礙。當女兒被迫擁有了母親欲求而不得的孩子時，影片也終於有了一種讓整個崇尚進化論的文明社會自己打自己臉的諷刺意味。在模糊而盛行的道德庇護下，淫亂濫交催生的性解放與全權控制導致的性壓抑最終通過兩場瘋狂的性派對達成了重疊和統一。儘管朵拉的拉斯維加斯之夢隨著責任的叛逃而流產，但值得女兒慶幸的是，又一個帶著先天缺陷的母親沒有選擇地加入了這場改變基因的運動當中。
