《本日公休》經營40年家庭理髮店的阿蕊有天接到老客人的一通電話，由於搬到遠方又礙於生病無法出門前往剪頭髮，因此請託阿蕊到府服務。重情義的阿蕊不顧子女的反對，在店門口掛上「本日公休」的牌子，帶上工具逕自開車出發，前往去做她認為值得的事。電影細膩地雕琢了母親對人情的看重，對子女隱而未說的關心，展現出充滿人情味的浪漫。
